Please, please don’t rush through Huế City if you ever visit us! Why should you see Huế from a tourist bus window while you can walk this city and have a closer look at the local life? Come walk with me to see more of this one-time capital of Vietnam.
Below are the photos from my morning walk today. I walked into Kinh Thành Huế (Huế Citadel) through Hữu Gate and then strolled Yết Kiêu Street before turning right to Lê Huân Street to reach the 2nd wall protecting Hoàng Thành Huế (Huế Royal City). I spent some time at Ngọ Môn Square watching youngsters doing shuttlecock kicking, men stretching or women sitting around chatting. After getting out of the citadel through Ngăn Gate, I wandered along Lê Duẩn Street and finally headed back to Kim Long District where I live.
