Wandering along Hương River in Huế City

Almost everyone in Việt Nam knows that Hương River goes through the heart of Huế but not many of them know that the river also runs between my name — Võ Thị Hương Lan, flowing into my soul and lingering there for good. While swimming in Hương river is like hugging a mother in my arms, walking or cycling along the river is like leaning on the beloved’s shoulder and pouring my heart to him. With a pair of walking and cycling tracks on both sides of the river have been newly built, the one on the Northern bank connecting Đông Ba Market with Thiên Mụ Pagoda and the one on the Southern bank linking Tòa Khâm Boat Quay to Sông Hương Theater, Huế locals have more fresh and open spaces to do outdoor activities by the charming river and in shady riverside parks in order to detox their busy mind and strengthen their muscles.

Let’s have a visual walk along Hương River with me through these pictures while Covid-19 is still haunting the world and you cannot be here now!

Each track is separated into two lanes – one for cycling and the other for walking.
